Energetically sophisticated building for energy service provider

energy & meteo systems moves into new building in Oldenburg

Oldenburg, 18 September 2019 – Two slides, colorful lamps and walls, round corners, tapering halls – the new building moved into by energy & meto systems is not only uncommon when seen from a technical and architectural standpoint. On the 16th of September 2019, energy & meteo systems, the IT company specializing in the integration of renewable energies, moved into its new company building on Osterkampsweg, Oldenburg with ERDF support.

With its new construction, the provider of power predictions and virtual power plants completed a pioneering piece of architecture. The building is state-of-the-art level in terms of indoor climate regulation. The server room, for example, is cooled with fresh air, while the 40 kW of waste heat is used for heating the 2.500 square meter building. For spikes in temperature, a heat pump serves as an air conditioner or heater. In addition, a solar rooftop installation produces electricity for the servers.

The wooden slats surrounding the building are not just for optics, but serve to shadow the offices. And of course for a company that counts meteorologists among its approximately 90 employees, a weather station on the roof is a must!
